Thank you so much. That’s a massive help.
Most of our episodes on YouTube are just audiogram videos. However, some guests have chosen to release the video from their interviews to YouTube too. Can you find out which guests are the ones to take the plunge?
Dr Reem Ameri recently allowed us to release her video on the YouTube channel. It has done some of the best numbers on the channel. You can watch Dr Ameri’s Working Hours YouTube episode here: Work is Easier When its Shared
If you’re coming on the show we’d love it if you were happy to release your video to YouTube too. We know it can feel intimidating to be on YouTube. It didn’t seem like the kind of place we would want to be in. It didn’t seem comfortable either. However, just like being on a podcast, it’s fine.
By adding video, you get more coverage. You also get more content of you in more places for your episode. If you really want to maximise value from your free recording for the podcast then, using your interview’s video for YouTube and Spotify will really help you bring even more listeners to your episode. If you’re being interviewed online and not using your video then you’re missing half the value of your recording.
If you’re yet to record for Working Hours and you’d like to have your Working Hours interview on YouTube please tell us as early as possible. That way, we can give you some extra tips and tricks before we record about how to get the best out of your video. If we do more video episodes, we’ll create a video intro for the YouTube episodes. This will add more value to those guest’s episodes.

Money, Money, Money.
If you follow the show closely, you know that funding for the show is nearly nonexistent. It has always been a struggle.
The show’s audience isn’t big enough to draw advertisers or paying members. The overheads for the show are low. However, even these low overheads are reaching a critical point. They are starting to become debts and are becoming unsustainable.
If the show is to continue beyond its 200 episode, it needs better and more reliable funding. It also needs more resourcing. The show creator and Western Studios Leeds founder Simon Treen has not been able to provide this. As it currently stands Simon has said on the show that there can be no more free episodes after episode 200.
We ask for money on the show in episodes. There are several ways to donate to the show. These options help financially support it. We signpost them on the show and on the Western Studios Leeds website. We try hard to make these donation methods known. They’re not widely recognized. While it’s easy to click through to them, it’s not easy enough for people to actually follow through. We’ll tell you about our Crowdfunder soon. If you can, please throw in any amount of cash for the show. This will help keep it in the black until we get to episode 200.
The easiest way to donate to Working Hours is to visit the website. Click the donate button on the Captivate players.
We listed it above but we’ll save you the time now of scrolling up. Click here https://ko-fi.com/workinghours to go straight to the Working Hours Ko-Fi page. You can donate any amount you can. Or want to. Your donation will help us make it to 200 episodes in the best shape we can.
Thanks for reading issue one of the Working Hours Newsletter. We’ll give you more info on the production. In the next issue, we’ll provide details on the costs. We will also share our plans for the future of Working Hours. Make sure you’re subscribed via the website western-studios.com.
